our approach
how we think about childhood
The thinking, research, and real-world experience behind everything we do at Sprouts.
our experience
capable kids
This is why we do it differently.
Our experience has shown time and time again that children who are given time, space, and freedom to play – outside – develop into more capable, confident, and curious people. Sprouts is definitely messier and less structured than other preschools; the kids are also more independent and imaginative than most. That’s the goal. Here’s how we get there.

our day
play, unscripted
Our most important activity.
Children do their best exploring, discovering, thinking, planning, and relationship-building through extended, uninterrupted free play time.
risky play

Confidence, grit, and resilience grow through small failures and physical challenges, and knowing your own limits.
- climbing & jumping
- flipping & spinning
- sliding & balancing
messy play

Getting fully, genuinely messy builds curiosity, initiative, and autonomy, as well as sensory tolerance.
- dirt, mud, & mulch
- water play
- paint, glitter, & glue
loose parts

An object with no fixed purpose asks a kid to invent one — using imagination and problem-solving.
- sticks, leaves, & rocks
- bowls, crates, buckets
- pipes, tubes, & boxes
our play
what it looks like
An experience like no other.

our studies
art & nature
What they make and what they notice.
art
Creativity and self-expression grow when the process matters more than the product — there's no "right" way to make art.
nature
Curiosity and wonder grow when every day nature – a bug, a leaf, or a puddle – is treated like something worth studying.

our families
kind words
from families who've been here
Our child had a difficult time at more traditional programs due to their abundant energy level. Not only do the providers offer ample space to quell our child's thirst for action – we absolutely love the safe and nurturing environment they provide our kiddo."
We couldn't have imagined a more magical place for our child to have her first school experienc and it has been a joy to watch her confidence grow.
